11th Street Lounge

Hot nights in Arlington

A sexy, artful, chic lounge in Clarendon….random! But good. Very good. Eleventh Street Lounge does the job and hits the spot for the urban suburbanite.

The vibe is chill and relaxing and the music is chill down tempo until about 10pm when the DJ kicks the house beats --Thursday to Saturday. No dancing goes on but a lot of head bobbing and shoulder shrugging to the beat takes place.

From the creator of Chi-Cha lounge, Gua-rapo and Gazuza comes this latin/sushi venture for those who love to explore with their taste buds. The name “Mate” stand for the South American herb used primarily for energy and revitalization, and can be found in several of the drinks and dishes offered.

Live DJs typically spin an assortment of house beats, however, not much dancing goes on. This is more of a “see and be seen”, “lounge and groove to it” type of locale. There have already been many celebrity sightings, so if you’re star struck, give it a shot on a weekend, although since the venue opened in May, it’s been hot on almost every night of the week.

The Moroccan nomadic tents and giant bird-cage hanging from the ceiling (where you can actually dine!) give an exotic hip flavor to this Buddha Bar wannabe. The unisex bathrooms are a must see! You might want to try the Chef's Six Course Tasting (served to the entire table only!). Customer service is excellent as expected from a pricey joint. The bar is quite popular on weekends.
