All DJs live up to the reputation, however. Features a large deck for warm summer nights. You won't find a sign at the doorstep and the door is mostly closed, so you have to look carefully or ask. This venue generally does not pick up until about 1am and the crowd is very random. Music is also random; some top DJs but a lot of unknowns mixed in. Resident Roger Samuel, however, is top notch. Great rooftop for summer nights, though you can expect to hear reggae and hip hop versus the house music on the main floor, as well as find a different crowd. Check the event list for the latest lineups.

202.822.1800

Main night: Tuesdays

Tue-Sat 10pm-3am | 21+ | $10-20
Guestlist: FREE till 11pm

Dress code: Strictly fashionable.

Technically the VIP section of club 1223, with a life, vibe and DJ lineup of its own, as well as separate entrance. Pete Moutso is resident on Tuesday nights and brings along top DJs frequently, though mostly without warning. The feel is Miami-style trendy with white beds lined-up against the walls. On weekends, you must be on the guestlist to make it in and on top DJ nights you MUST arrive early since the place easily reaches capacity. You can regularly spot celebrities in the restricted VIP section. The DJ table is nestled behind the bar and not much dancing goes on. Mostly for chic, fashionably sensitive, and a bit older party-goers.
